About heimster
Apartment hunting in Switzerland is too complicated. We want to change that.
heimster was built because searching, applying, and marketing are unnecessarily slow, expensive, and confusing today - and because we believe a platform should exist that truly works for both sides.
You send the same documents ten times by email, hear nothing for weeks, coordinate viewings via WhatsApp, and struggle through platforms that have barely changed in years.
And on the other side, things are not much better: landlords and agencies receive hundreds of unstructured enquiries, waste time on administration, and pay ever-increasing listing fees. It does not have to be this way.
Why we built heimster
The big platforms make money from listing fees. That is the real problem.
The major real-estate platforms in Switzerland are largely owned by the same shareholders. Their incentive is not primarily to help tenants find the right apartment faster or landlords reach the right person sooner. That is exactly why there is often no pressure to truly rethink the experience.
We founded heimster because we believe there should be a platform that truly works for both sides: free, fair, and built so that a good experience is not a coincidence but by design.

heimster is developed by a small team convinced that the Swiss real-estate market deserves better digital infrastructure. We do not build for page views or listing volume, but for a better process between tenants and landlords.
We are not a media conglomerate. We measure ourselves by whether the people who use heimster actually end up living where they want to live. That is our standard.
